On June 17 2016 two of many poetry tablets that compliment Hamilton's beautiful Sunset Cultural Garden were stolen. The 'Friends of the Parkette' who volunteer their energies to oversee the garden's development and maintenance reported both the German and Sicilian stone tablets had gone missing. Even with media coverage and a public appeal for their return, recovery seemed unlikely.
On June 22 2016 a decision was made to replace the two missing tablets. My wife, Debra, and I were eager to assist. As proud donors of the Sunset Cultural Garden we offered to cover the replacement costs. Today the 'Friends of the Parkette' were able to fill the empty spaces and my family and I were happy to join them.
The Sunset Cultural Garden is a volunteer coordinated project located at Bay and Strachan Streets in Hamilton. All are welcome to enjoy this unique public space.
